Vandy Week: Kendall's look at the game

NASHVILLE - Josh Kendall takes a look at the rushing, passing and specail teams for this week's game.

Smash the ‘Dores

The Bulldogs swear they aren't overlooking Vandy. They said the same thing the last time they played in Nashville, and they trailed 2-0 at halftime. If this Georgia team is as focused as it says, it'll finish this game off quickly.

Score in the red zone

The Bulldogs got points in the red zone against the Vols but not the kind they wanted. Brandon Coutu kicked 18 and 25 yard field goals, which means Georgia got close but didn't get the ball in the end zone.

Stay healthy

Georgia can't afford anymore injuries on the defensive line or at linebacker. The Bulldogs have just three defensive tackles and three defensive ends they trust in crucial situations. That's enough, but barely.

One to watch

Linebacker Jarvis Jackson, at 208 pounds, is undersized for the middle linebacker spot, but he's fun to watch at that position. He feels more comfortable there than on the outside, where he played the first five games of the season, and he likes to run and hit. He'll remind Georgia fans of Odell Thurman, just smaller and not quite the hitter because of his bulk.

Forecast

This game consistently seems harder than it should be for the Bulldogs, and this team has played down to the level of its competition at times this year. (See: South Carolina and Louisiana-Monroe.) Georgia, though, has a different feel after the win over Tennessee. It's talking big, and, if it wants to back it up, it needs to whip the Commodores.

Winner: Georgia
