Practice Notes: ULM Thursday

ATHENS – The No. 6 University of Georgia football team went through its "dress rehearsal" for Saturday's game against Louisiana-Monroe, practicing for just under two hours on Thursday afternoon at the Woodruff practice fields.

According to Georgia head coach Mark Richt, the team was a little lethargic early on, but got better as the practice progressed. Following Thursday's workout, Richt re-emphasized the importance of the Bulldogs getting better in both "Red Zone" defense and in their ability to get big plays out of the running game.

"I hope we improve our ‘Red Zone' defense and I hope we can get longer runs," said Richt. "Those are two things above and beyond protecting the ball, not missing assignments and tackling well. Those things you have to do well, but specifically we have not done well in those two categories. As good as we are blocking up front we need to get longer runs than we're getting."

On the injury front, Richt said sophomore TB Thomas Brown (shoulder) was "doubtful" and redshirt freshman Dannell Ellerbe (ankle) was "questionable" for Saturday's game.

Kickoff Saturday at Sanford Stadium versus the Indians will be at 1 p.m. ET
