Dawgs Tweak Home Game Weekend Routine

ATHENS - One change to Georgia’s home game routine this season is a switch of where the team stays on Friday nights before home games.

It will have its final preparations including meetings and meals at Chateau Elan in Braselton after staying previously at a Lake Lanier hotel.

“It’s closer,” athletic director Greg McGarity said. “It saves us some time on both ends of it so we changed locations. It’s not anything that Lake Lanier’s staff did wrong. …It was the proximity that was the key factor there.”

  This and that

Georgia 2015 wide receiver commitment Jayson Stanley from Creekside tweeted on Tuesday that he sustained a torn ACL.

Six prognosticators from SI.com made their picks for the four-team playoff. Florida State was the pick to win it all by four writers. Gabriel Baumgaertner chose Georgia. His reasoning was that Mason “has two of the nation’s best running backs (Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall), three stud receivers and a defense with eight returning starters, including a truly fearsome linebacker in Leonard Floyd. Crazy? Sure. But it’s time for Mark Richt to catch his break.”
