Pyke, Jenkins Have "Outstanding Camp"

ATHENS - Richt said coaches are “pretty close” to knowing who will start on both sides of the ball, but wouldn’t divulge that.

“We’ll let Clemson find out when we get going,” Richt said.

He did name some preseason standouts, first naming starting offensive right guard Greg Pyke.

He said tight end/H-back Quayvon Hicks has had “a really solid camp.”

He mentioned two outside linebackers: Jordan Jenkins has had “an outstanding camp,” and Leonard Floyd “just loves football. He loves to play and works hard and does a good job.” Safety Corey Moore “had a very solid camp.”

Kicker Marshall Morgan also drew praise as did punters Collin Barber and Adam Erickson.

  This and that

New defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt will be on the field during games. Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo will remain on the press box level.

Wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell still hasn’t practiced this month after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery. “He’s getting a little bit of running in the water anyway. I don’t know if he’s out on the ground yet.”

Junior cornerback Devin Bowman, who Richt said was having a “pretty good camp,” has been sidelined with a pulled hamstring.

AT&T said it has completed a $10 million investment at Sanford Stadium for improved wireless services that will provide more than four times the capacity for its customers. Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity said this spring that Verizon was making similar upgrades in the stadium.
