Questions remain, Richt said, “as far as who is playing where and who’s going to start, what kind of rotation might there be, I don’t know if we know as much coming out this part of the camp as I would have liked to at this time.”
Injuries are part of the reason for that, Richt said.
So is youth and inexperience, particularly on defense.
“There’s just not a lot settled at a lot of positions especially on the defensive side of the ball,” Richt said. “I’m concerned about it, but the dust is going to settle and guys are going to go out there and play ball and we’ll see what they’re made of.”
“It will be a trial by fire for a lot of these guys,” Richt said. “We’ll see how well they handle the pressure of it. Even these practices from this point on, if a guy lines up as a first-teamer tomorrow and spits the bit because of the pressure of being in that position then he may not be in that position by the time we kick off. If we play the game and we get in that game and he doesn’t respond as well as we hoped then there may be change in the middle of the game or going into the next one.”
