Here is a look at the top performers from the Nike Camp held at Ardrey Kell High School in Charlotte, NC on March 29th, 2014.
Kyle Mitchell, 2015, Alcoa (TN)
An easy choice for offensive line MVP, Mitchell measured 6'1/290, which may scare off some teams. It shouldn't. Mitchell is a powerful interior lineman who could take some snaps at center as well as guard. He had good lateral mobility and was immovable once he got his hands on a defender.
Austin Clark, 2015, Rockbridge County (VA)
Clark was easily the top offensive tackle performer on the day. He had an easy drop step that allowed him to cut off speed rushers, and he kept a good base to absorb any power moves that the bigger ends tried on him.
Jake Helms, 2016, Davidson Day (NC)
Lined up at right tackle to start the day, but is an interior line prospect. Helms has a powerful upper body and gets a strong initial punch. Should be one of the top linemen at the event next year as a junior.
Emanuel McGirt, 2015, Hillside (NC)
McGirt was chosen first team right tackle by the coaches at the camp. McGirt played with a wide base and had a strong initial punch with his hands.
Armani Taylor, 2015, Berkeley (SC)
Potential. That's how to describe Taylor. The best frame of any of the participants at tackle, Taylor also has good agility. He's still figuring out how to get control of his big frame and looks to be new to the position, but he has as many physical tools as anyone in attendance.
