Dawgs Offer and Impress
Sims, who transferred to Lowdnes from Valdosta, has been getting a fair amount of attention from the Bulldogs of late. On Monday, offensive coordinator Mike Bobo and offensive line coach Will Friend visited Sims. "I was asleep when I found out about the offer," Sims said. "I got a message from Coach Friend on Facebook, and he said he had some good news for me. I called him, and I got the scholarship offer from Georgia. "Coach Friend basically offered me because he liked what I did at practice when he was here watching me Monday. The offer surprised me. I knew they were interested, but I really did not know they would offer me a couple of days after seeing me practice. It is pretty exciting," Sims added. Wednesday night offer from the Bulldogs accelerated his rise in the recruiting world this week. Sims also got an offer from Central Florida earlier in the week to add to his offers from Lafayette, Charlotte, and Middle Tennessee. The offer from Friend and the Dawgs may be a difficult one for other programs to overcome. "Coach Friend told me he thinks I would fit in well at Georgia and that I could help them win championships. My family and I have always been big Georgia fans. I have been to Georgia plenty of times, and I like it there a lot. I grew up a fan of Georgia, and I still love the school." "I have not even talked to my family about the Georgia, but after I do I could think about committing," Sims admitted. "I thought about it as soon as they offered, but I did not want to rush it. I need to keep an open mind for a bit, talk with my family and then see what I want to do." National Recruiting Analyst Chad Simmons contributed to this story.
