He was released on a $1,000 bond. Flournoy-Smith played a limited role at tight end last season.

The Athens Banner-Herald reports that Flournoy-Smith "filed a police report with UGA in the last few days about stolen textbooks. He appeared to have filed the false police report because there was a process with the Athletic Association in which Flournoy-Smith had to explain the lost textbooks."

Georgia representatives said that Mark Richt is aware of the arrest, but gave no comment on it. in the past Georgia players who have been arrested on misdemeanor charges have typically been suspended at least one game of the season.
