Riles Takes First Trip to Athens

A change of plans didn't stop Antonio Riles from visiting Athens for VID Saturday.

Riles, a 6-4, 250-pound defensive end from Archer High in Lawrenceville, Ga., originally planned to visit Georgia with his parents.

"They couldn't go, so I told coach (Bryan) McClendon that I was just coming with some teammates," Riles said.

Although he grew up following the Bulldogs, he had never been to the campus before.

"I had a lot of fun seeing all that stuff," said Riles, who was offered by the Bulldogs on Feb. 21. "I always liked them, but I've never actually been there. "It was kind of amazing seeing all the facilities and going through the day."

Riles spoke to many current Georgia players, but one former headlining recruit stood out.

"Ray Drew and I talked," Riles said. "He was just talking to me about the environment, how cool it is and what made him choose Georgia over all the other schools recruiting him."

Riles has visited Kentucky, Georgia and will head to Tennessee in a few weeks.

"After that I'm just going to wait around and see what else might come up," he said. "I plan to attend spring practices. I don't really have a schedule or anything like that."
