| Talented pitcher who emerged as a valuable member of the Tech bullpen during his freshman campaign....Has a live fastball and a power breaking ball, and mixes in a good changeup.
2006: Member of All-ACC Academic Baseball team....Led team with a 2.20 ERA while posting a 5-0 record with two saves in team-leading 37 appearances out of bullpen....Struck out 51 batters in 49 IP in 2006....limited opponents to a .207 batting average....allowed no earned runs in his last five appearances on the season....overall, made scoreless outings in a total of 28 appearances during the season....posted a 0.77 ERA in regular season ACC appearances (23.1 IP, 3 R, 2 ER), holding opponents to a .163 average....Went 4-0 with two saves, 1.62 ERA in 33.1 IP in his last 23 appearances....Pitched for Brewster Whitecaps of Cape Cod League during summer.
2005: Made 17 relief appearances as a freshman....earned win with 3.2 inning stint in collegiate debut 2/12 at Georgia Southern....turned in five straight scoreless outings 4/3 to 5/13....pitched final two innings to combine with Lee Hyde on shutout of Virginia Tech 5/13....was solid in his only appearance of the NCAA Atlanta Regional, working 2.2 innings and allowing one run on one hit while fanning four vs. South Carolina....Spent summer with Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox of Cape Cod League going 1-0 with three saves while walking just five and striking out 24 batters in 25.2 innings.
High School: A four-year letter-winner for coach Bobby Howard at Columbus High School as a pitcher....Led Columbus to the Georgia AAAA State Championship in 2004....Team was ranked No. 2 in the nation by USA Today and No. 5 by Baseball America....Went 9-1 with two saves and a 1.17 ERA as a senior while striking out 89 batters in 55 innings....only loss during 2004 was a 2-1 decision against nationally-ranked Gulliver Prep (Miami, Fla.)....Posted a 9-1 record with five saves and a 1.11 ERA as a junior, recording 97 strikeouts in 63 innings....A first-team all-Bi City selection in 2003 and 2004....Also lettered two years in football as a place-kicker.
