Excellent defensive catcher with a strong throwing arm....Has the potential to be an excellent player in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
2006: Provided depth behind Andy Hawranick and Matt Wieters as freshman....drove in a run with each of his hits during the season....played for Duluth Huskies of Northwoods League during summer.
High School: A four-year letter-winner for coach Bill Hutton at Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose....rated as the No. 249 prospect in the nation and the No. 38 prospect in the state of California by Perfect Game USA....named First Team All-West Catholic League, second team All-Mercury News for the San Jose area, and second team All-State by calhisports.com as a senior....also earned all-league honors as a junior, and helped his team win a sectional championship as a sophomore....selected to play in the Area Code Games and the California North-South game....hit .333 with four home runs and 35 RBI as a senior....hit .333 as a junior....played for Los Gatos Athletics of the Santa Clara/San Jose-area Palomino League during summer of 2005....also played two years of basketball and a year of football at Archbishop Mitty.
