“We made it tough for them to make shots,” said head coach Dennis Felton. “We were dominating on rebounds. It was the best offensive game we have played all season.”
Freshmen Howard “Trey” Thompkins III and Drazen Zlovaric were the leading scorers for the Bulldogs, with Thompkins registering 23 and Zlovaric adding 16 on seven of eight shooting.
“The more Trey gets on the court, the stronger he will become,” said Felton of his freshman forward. “He’s a pretty special player offensively. He is still gaining experience, and he will get better and better.”
Thompkins and Zlovaric also got in done for the Dogs on the glass, with seven and six rebounds respectively. Jeremy Price led all players with nine rebounds. Georgia put together another solid defensive effort, adding to some impressive performances thus far in the season. They held the Delta Devils to 33% shooting on the night, and only allowed them to attempt nine free throws.
Georgia’s final tally tonight was especially impressive considering the sizeable contribution the team got from its bench. Georgia’s bench scored 57 points and ten Bulldogs contributed in scoring.
