Tennessee Week: Thursday Practice Report

ATHENS - Georgia finalized game week preparations for its matchup against Tennessee with a 90-minute workout in shorts and helmets Thursday.

After inclement weather forced the Bulldogs inside Wednesday, the team spent the first part of Thursday's practice working on the kicking game.

"We were going to go to the stadium today, but we decided to go to the field turf," head coach Mark Richt said. "We got a lot of rain the last couple of days, our field turf specialist appealed to me and I said okay. We didn't get all the kicking in yesterday that we wanted, so we added a little more time on the front end for kicking."

Richt noted before practice that with senior fullback Brannan Southerland (foot) returning to action this weekend, Benjamin Boyd has moved back to linebacker while Justin Fields will remain at fullback.

Richt was also asked about the status of freshman receiver Tavarres King (ankle).

"I think he will play," Richt said. "He looked very good (Tuesday) running routes. He didn't look like he had any limp at all."
