The Bulldogs are 1-0 after opening the campaign with a 45-21 decision over Georgia Southern. On Saturday, Georgia will play host to Central Michigan, which is also 1-0 following its 31-12 victory over Eastern Illinois.
Most of Monday¹s practice was spent concentrating on conditioning and special teams.
³We put in a lot of hard work during camp, and I am proud that we are 1-0,² Georgia coach Mark Richt said. ³Any victory is a great victory. But we¹ve got to keep working and keep getting better. I was very encouraged by the way we handled today¹s practice. Our schedule is going to test us every week, and we¹ve got to be physically and mentally ready for everybody we play.²
Richt announced the captains for this week¹s game will be Matthew Stafford and Shaun Chapas on offense, Corvey Irvin on defense and Reshad Jones on special teams.
