Richardson getting attention from all over Premium Story

Nu’keese Richardson’s phone rings… a lot. But that’s the price you pay as one of the top recruits in the country.

Richardson, a wide receiver for Pahokee (FL), is being recruited be a who’s who of colleges including Michigan, Miami, Southern Cal, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.

The Gamecocks may not be considered a traditional recruiting power like the rest of the list above, but they have been interested in the South Florida prospect for some time.

“Coach Gillespe and I are real tight,” Richardson said. “South Carolina was my first offer, and they have known about me since I was in ninth or tenth grade.”

The Gamecocks, however, are not close to getting a commitment from Richardson – in fact, no one is.

The plan, for now at least, is for Richardson to take a look around at as many schools as possible. He’s already been to Columbia. He will visit Southern Cal this June and will visit Georgia right after that. He said he also plans on seeing what Michigan has to offer over the summer.

“I want to see what everyone has at their school,” he said. “I am looking to see what the city is like where I will be playing… that’s important.”

Coaches flow in and out of Pahokee daily, Richardson said, and Georgia’s offensive coordinator Mike Bobo was in town the other day.

“It was fun to meet him,” Richardson said of the visit by Bobo. “He looked so excited to see me, but we couldn't talk. I have really had fun talking with him on the phone – just getting to know him better. He seemed real laid back and cool.”

While Georgia would like to sign a couple of top wide receivers in this class there is no doubt that competition for Richardson will be fierce… enter Aaron Murray.

Richardson and Murray “won it all” earlier this spring at a camp in Tampa. The wide receiver said the pair “formed a bond” and that the two have been “keeping up with one other since.”

“He committed to Georgia not that long ago, and he’s been calling be me about it a lot since. We talk about every week,” Richardson said.

Murray has been one of the most effective recruiters for Georgia since coming on board, and it seems Richardson is one of Muray’s top targets.

As for Richardson, he’s just getting ready for what looks like a busy sumer.

“No doubt, it’s going to be busy,” he said.
