ATHENS - Josh Brooks has been named Assistant Director of Football Operations at the University of Georgia according to an announcement by Bulldog head coach Mark Richt. Brooks has served as director of football operations at Louisiana-Monroe for three seasons.

Brooks will assist in handling the day-to-day responsibilities in the football office as well as team travel, dress lists, participation lists and orientation letters.

The Hammond, La., native spent two stints at ULM where he began as a graduate assistant coach in 2002. He was named director of football operations in 2004, working as an assistant to the athletic director and head football coach for two years. After working for a construction company in Irvine, Calif., Brooks rejoined the ULM staff for his second stint as director of operations in 2007.

Prior to his time at ULM, Brooks spent three seasons at LSU, working first as student equipment manager, then as a student assistant coach. As a student assistant, he worked with the quarterbacks and former offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher.

Brooks earned his B.S. in Kinesiology from LSU in 2002. He is married to the former Lillie Harrell, also of Hammond.
