ATLANTA – Georgia’s night game was delayed by an apparent tornado in downtown Atlanta Friday night.

Georgia is still scheduled to play Kentucky after Mississippi State and Alabama finish their game. State led Bama 64-61 with 2:11 left in overtime when the roof of the Georgia Dome started shaking. Moments later Georgia Dome officials stopped the game.

Dome security warned fans to “stay away from windows and doors” during the delay.

Georgia Dome Officials said “high-force” winds whipped across the Georgia Dome roof a mere 30 seconds after they got a tornado warning.

State beat Alabama at 10:54, but as Georgia players and cheerleaders were about to enter the floor, the game was halted once more.

Georgia would likely tip off no earlier than 10:50 pm.
