NEW ORLEANS – Georgia play-by-play voice Larry Munson has changed his mind and will not work the Bulldogs’ game against Hawaii in Tuesday’s Sugar Bowl.

Munson informed WSB Radio producer Neil Williamson shortly after Christmas that he wouldn’t be working the game.

“He just said he didn’t feel like making the trip,” Williamson said Thursday.

Scott Howard will take over the play-by-play duties as he has on the Bulldogs’ road games this season. Former Georgia quarterback Eric Zeier, who already was planning to make the trip as part of the broadcast team, will provide color commentary.

Munson quit working road games prior to this season for health reasons but had planned all year to work the bowl game. It will be the first Georgia bowl game he has missed since he began calling games in 1966.
