Sanders Commings Profile
He was interested in Georgia, South Carolina and Florida – but couldn’t seem to make his mind up – specifically between the Bulldogs and Gamecocks. However, he said this morning that he made his mind up for good last night.
“I called up the coaches at Georgia and let them know that I wanted to come there,” Sanders said early this morning. “I talked with both Coach Perno and Coach Richt – they were both excited about me coming up to Athens.”
Commings has spent most of this football season sidelined with a injury. His high school team, Westside, struggled without him in the lineup.
“He wanted to stay at home and represent his home state,” the Augusta native’s father said from his home this morning.
Sanders scheduled an official visit to Clemson days ago, but it is not clear if he will be taking that trip after his commitment. Sanders was also supposed to make his decision the weekend of the Georgia-Tennessee game, but decided to hold off, saying that he wasn’t ready to make that decision yet.
But he was last night.
“I felt more at home at Georgia than anywhere else,” Commings said. “I just fit in better there.”
That’s why the decision wasn’t hard for Commings to make.
