Florida Week: Wednesday Practice Report

Posted Oct 24, 2007

ATHENS - The 20th-ranked Georgia Bulldogs began a two-hour workout Wednesday in the rain, and then the skies cleared and cooler temperatures moved in for the last 90 minutes of the session.

Georgia coach Mark Richt said despite the weather conditions, the Bulldogs posted a productive workout.

"We practiced through a pretty good rain for the first 30 minutes, but it was good for us to practice in wet conditions, and we handled it well," said Richt. "There's a 40 percent chance of rain Saturday. We had good focus and tempo."

When asked about tailbacks Thomas Brown and Caleb King, Richt said Brown could be back by the Auburn game (Nov. 10) while King could see action this season. Brown, a senior, is out with a collarbone injury while King, a true freshman, has yet to play this year.

"There's no chance for Thomas Saturday and next Saturday, and then we'll look at the x-rays and gauge how well it's healing," said Richt. "For Caleb, we'll know before the game starts what are intentions are for him, but it could become a game day situation if someone gets banged up. He has been doing what Knowshon (Moreno) was doing last year, giving us a good look on the scout team, and now he's learning and working on pass protection too."
