The Bulldogs (5-2, 3-2 SEC) only held a couple of practices this week during their open date in the schedule. They will return to action next Saturday, Oct. 27 against No. 14 Florida
(4-2, 2-2 SEC) in Jacksonville. Georgia
coach Mark Richt
said there were some highs and lows during Thursday's two-hour workout.
"I was excited to see the guys scrimmage at the end," said Richt. "Let's see, some of the highlights were Donavon Baldwin had two picks, Logan Gray had a fantastic run, Demarcus Dobbs had a sack and Kalvin Daniels and Caleb King made some good runs. The guys enjoyed it."
Richt added that he was pleased with the two workouts this week, both featuring the team in full pads with a day of weightlifting in between. Georgia will resume practice on Monday. When talk turned to the future indoor practice facility for the football team, Richt said he was ready, willing and able to help out to see it to completion. The exact location of the facility has not been determined.
"I'm excited, hopefully, it will be sooner than we all think," said Richt. "We're going to make sure we do it right. We'll start fundraising, and it's going to be a big part of the phase of this next build."
ATHENS - For the second time this week, No. 21 Georgia ended practice with a 15-minute scrimmage featuring the reserves and scout team members.
