Vandy Week: Thursday Practice Report

Posted Oct 11, 2007

ATHENS - The No. 24-ranked Georgia football team held their final workout, a 90-minute session, on Thursday at the Woodruff Practice Fields in preparation their Southeastern Conference meeting with Vanderbilt.

The Bulldogs (4-2, 2-2 SEC) face the Commodores (3-2, 1-2 SEC) Saturday at 6 p.m. ET in Nashville on ESPN2.

"It's a big game," Georgia head coach Mark Richt said. "It's a huge game for us. We need to get after it. We need to win it no doubt."

Richt also noted that senior linebacker Brandon Miller (calf muscle injury) and senior tailback Thomas Brown (collar bone injury) would not make the trip to Nashville, while senior split end Mikey Henderson (hamstring injury) would travel with the team to take on the Commodores.

"(Mikey) has got a medical clearance to play," Richt said. "But he doesn't feel 100 percent, and he feels like if we do too much it could cause a problem. Initially, we were like let's not do anything, but the more we think about it and the more he feels a little bit better as the week goes along, you feel like let's get him in position to help."
