Alabama Week: Wednesday Practice Report

Posted Sep 19, 2007

ATHENS - The No. 22-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (2-1, 0-1 SEC) held a two-hour workout Wednesday in preparation for their Southeastern Conference clash with No. 16 Alabama.

"I liked how practice went today, I talk a lot about how important it is to have energy out there, and we had it today" head coach Mark Richt said.

Richt commented on the status of senior running back Kregg Lumpkin who missed the last game with a broken thumb but practiced Wednesday with a cast.

"We let Kregg take some snaps at running back, and we're trying to watch him and see what he can do," said Richt. "I can't say for sure how much he'll play, but he can probably play on special teams. I'm not sure about carrying the ball, but I wouldn't count him out."

When asked about the team's overall performance on special teams, Richt indicated there would not be wholesale changes in personnel, but he was looking for improvement in that area.
