THREE KEYS
Shake off the doldrums
It eventually happened, but not fast enough. The Bulldogs had 31 yards in the first half against a bad team. They rolled for 162 in the second quarter, putting the game away with three touchdown drives, but they can’t give good teams a head start. “We’ve got to work on starting fast,” senior wide receiver Sean Bailey said.
Catch passes
For the most part, they did, particularly in the second quarter. However, it wasn’t a perfect game. Bailey and fellow senior Mikey Henderson each had a drop. It didn’t hurt them this time, but it will down the line. On the positive side, Demiko Goodman made just the second highlight catch of the season, a diving 34-yard touchdown grab.
Be precise
There’s no other way to describe Stafford during the second quarter. In one eight-play stretch, he had completions for 22, 17, 8, 15, 24, 18 and 23 yards. Two of those passes were touchdowns.
