ATHENS - The 11th-ranked Georgia football team put the finishing touches on their final preparations for South Carolina with a 90-minute practice session in shorts and jerseys on Thursday afternoon.

The Bulldogs will take on the Gamecocks at Sanford Stadium at 5:45 p.m. EDT on Saturday and the Dog Walk will take place at 4:05 p.m.

Georgia head coach Mark Richt said that the Thursday practice session was shorted 15 minutes from how long it was originally scheduled to go in order to make sure the team is as fresh as they can be on Saturday.

³We really had a great focus about us today,² Richt indicated. ³I really liked the energy we showed today compared to Wednesday.²

Following the practice session, Richt visited with the Redcoat Band.

³I always like to meet with the Redcoat Band once a year to tell them how much I appreciate them and how much I respect what they do,² Richt said. ³The band is very important they are to our success. Everybody appreciates the hard work that they put in.²
