Michael Bowman plays at Ridgeland in Rossville, a suburb of Chattanooga, Tenn., where Adarius played his high school football.
However, things went sour early when Tara and Terrance Bowman showed up decked out from head to toe in Oklahoma State orange-and-black. That didn't sit well with the Bulldogs' recruiting officials, Tara Bowman said.
"What should they expect?" she asked. "Our son's out there."
The Bowmans were asked to change their shirts or leave and chose to leave, Tara Bowman said. An hour before kickoff of Saturday's night game between the Bulldogs and Cowboys, they were on Sanford Stadium's sideline while a Georgia escort tried to find them tickets outside of the Bulldogs' recruiting section.
"I'm mad at y'all right now," Tara Bowman said.
However, she said it wouldn't affect Georgia's recruitment of Michael.
"No, I wouldn't do that," she said. "I'm mad at y'all; he's not."
Georgia athletics director Damon Evans said before the game he was unaware of the incident and had no comment.
