ATHENS - University of Georgia junior snapper Jeff Henson of Gainesville has been awarded a scholarship by Bulldog head coach Mark Richt.

Jeff Henson won the snapper job last summer after coming to Georgia as a walkon.

“Jeff has done an outstanding job handling this very difficult position,” said Richt. “He’s provided stability at an important spot and we feel he’s well-deserving of the scholarship.”

Henson is a graduate of West Hall High School where he played defense and snapper for head coach Tim Marchman. He was named to the All-Area team as a senior and earned the team’s special teams award.
