ATHENS - If Georgia wanted to make a good impression on Jeremy Brown they did a good job of it.

The Orlando cornerback said his one-day trip to Athens exceeded his expectations.

"It was above and beyond my expectations," he said after leaving the Athens campus. "It was great. I have been to a few schools already on trips and I would say that it was up there with any of the other trips I have already taken. Actually, I wouldn't put anyone on top of Georgia."

Brown was asked to compare the feeling he had leaving Athens to that of when he left other schools. Georgia, he said, compared well.

"It was just great," Brown said. "I have been to some other places and I feel like 'This just is not me.' I left Georgia thinking: 'I could see myself playing here.'"

Brown is visiting Georgia, Auburn and Notre Dame this week. He will return to those campuses later in the year for official visits, he said, along with official trips to Wisconsin and LSU.

"We were on the same page about future visits with them and other schools," Brown confirmed.

When asked by the coaching staff about Georgia's chances in the recruiting fight for him, Brown said handicapped the Dawgs' chances.

"I told Georgia that they were in the hunt," he said. "We wouldn't have driven all the way up to Athens for nothing. We are excited about Georgia, and I think the coaches are excited about me."

Brown felt he got the special treatment in Athens. It was something that really impressed him, he admitted. Brown also got to soak up a little bit what its like to be a player at Georgia.

"I was there for about seven hours," Brown said of his trip. "The coaches were in a meeting when I got there, and they all stood up and greeted me when I came into the room. We talked with the academic people for an hour, and we got a chance to see the seven-on-sevens and that was fun. They were really competing. We got to tour the campus and it was great. I went back after the meeting and talked with Coach Richt, Coach Martinez and Coach Johnson."

That trio of Bulldog coaches seemed to really make Brown feel at home.

"The interest that they showed in me - they really didn't show genuine interest in me at some schools. I think it was genuine interest at Georgia," Brown said. "As a whole it just went great. I was very comfortable. It was above expectations."
