ATHENS - If Georgia wanted to make a good impression on Jeremy Brown they did a good job of it…
Brown starts busy week in Athens
Jeremy Brown Profile "I am going to Georgia on Monday, and I am going to Auburn the day after that," Brown said Sunday. The four-star wide receiver/corerback has already narrowed his college choices to five programs: Georgia, Auburn, LSU, Notre Dame and Wisconsin. He will visit all five schools unofficially and then will visit the schools for an official visit on the weekends listed below: Georgia vs. South Carolina Auburn vs. Kansas State LSU vs. Florida Notre Dame vs. USC Wisconsin vs. Iowa The unofficial visits are very important for the Florida native because he wants to see each program and how they work inside and out. That, Brown hopes, will allow him to get a good enough feel to narrow his list even further. "I just want to go somewhere that I am comfortable - that's why i am going on unofficial visits," he said. "I think you can get a vibe at places and that will help narrow it down to two. I will have to go with my heart then." As for his trip to Athens, Brown says that he wants to see the regular things most recruits want to see. "I just want to talk with the coaches and get a vibe for their program. I want to see the stadium and the faculties. I know they have a great program and compete with Florida, LSU and Auburn. I know they have a strong fan base," he said. When asked about playing cornerback at Georgia, and the fact that Georgia has two cornerbacks already committed, Brown seemed energized. He knew about Makiri Pugh and Brandon Boykin and had "heard good things" about both of them. "If anything, Georgia having guys committed at corner is a good thing because I love competition. I have heard about Georgia's cornerbacks, and I think it would be fine," he said. Brown was concerned earlier in the year when he looked for attention from the Bulldogs, but didn't get any. As it turned out his father made a mistake - sending film of his son to every school in the SEC, but Georgia. "I heard from everyone but Georgia. We went back and realized that we didn't send Georgia film. Then Coach Johnson came down and offered me that day. He told me they were excited to finally get the film," he said with a laugh. "They are real excited about me visiting on Monday," Brown said of his trip. "Coach Johnson told me that he feels that I have what it takes to be a great cornerback at Georgia." After the trip to Athens and Auburn, Brown will get on a plane and fly north to check out Notre Dame at the end of the week.
