ATHENS – Georgia’s early recruiting effort have earned them a top-five ranking in the first recruiting rankings for the class of 2008.

Mark Richt’s Bulldogs check in at #5 behind #1 Notre Dame, #2 Texas, #3 UCLA, and #4 Oklahoma. The Bulldogs have 17 commitments including three players ranked in Scout.com’s National Top 100.

The Bulldogs have the highest ranked class of any SEC school, beating out #13 Ole Miss by eight spots. None of Georgia’s big three rivals, Auburn, Georgia Tech and Florida, are ranked in the top 20 of this edition of Scout.com’s rankings.
