Top-ranked Duke carded a 1-under 287 to grab the team lead. The Blue Devils are 11-over 587, 15 strokes ahead of the Bulldogs. Rounding out the top 10 are No. 8 UCLA at 594, No. 12 Purdue at 597, No. 10 Stanford at 599, No. 7 Southern Cal at 601, Georgia at 602, Louisville at 603 and No. 2 Arizona State, No. 4 Vanderbilt and No. 6 Pepperdine all at 605.
"We just need to regroup a little bit," interim coach Véronique Drouin said. "There's still two more days. There's a lot of golf to be played. I think we're still in it. We're 15 shots back. That's not much in team golf. The girls love the golf course. We've had two high rounds, but we can definitely go low."
Georgia's counting scores on Wednesday were a pair of 74s from Taylor Leon and Whitney Wade, a 75 from Alina Lee and a 76 from Garrett Phillips. Mallory Hetzel shot 82.
Just as in the first round, the Bulldogs let a very solid round slip through their hands late in the day. On Monday, Georgia played the final six holes at 10-over and fell from first to seventh on the leaderboard. The Dogs were 7-over in their final six on Wednesday.
Overall, Leon is tied for 10th at 4-over 148, seven shots back of Purdue's Christel Boeljon on the individual leadboard. Wade is tied for 23rd at 150, Phillips is tied for 55th at 154, Lee is tied for 63rd at 155 and Hetzel is tied for 79th at 157.
The Bulldogs will be paired with Stanford and Southern Cal for Thursday's round. Georgia will tee off beginning at 12:30 p.m. Hole-by-hole live scoring is available at www.golfstat.com.
