I always go to high school football games very skeptical of the talent I see in front of me. The very cold night I went to watch Charles White last fall was no different.
Charles was dealing with an ankle injury – his movement was not that great the week before when I went to see him. I was concerned with what I saw the week before. My mind change seven days later when he flew around the field in the state semifinals. Blythewood’s statistics show that White had 15 total tackles that night, and I think the film shows almost all of them. It may be difficult to count all of them, but time after time White is the last one getting off the pile.
There is also some footage of White moving in coverage. Like all high school linebackers, White will need to work on getting better in that area of his game. Still, Georgia has got an outstanding leader coming to campus in June and the film below shows that he can play football quite well.
