"It was a good day; it was very competitive," Georgia coach Mark Richt said. "We went live to finish the day, and there were a lot of big plays. It was a big-play kind of day."
Richt said receivers Sean Bailey and Kenneth Harris had long scoring catches and that tailback Knowshown Moreno had a long run. On defense, safety Reshad Jones returned an interception for a touchdown. All of these plays happened during the 1-minute drills in the final moments of practice.
"I saw a lot of really good stuff," Richt said. "There was some really good effort."
Richt said senior safety Kelin Johnson has taken on a leadership role for the Bulldogs this spring.
"I can't remember Kelin being hurt very much in the past, but he throws his body in there and is very physical," Richt said. "He's doing a great job of leading us. He's like a coach on the field with the other players. Even when he's on the sideline, he's working with the young guys."
The Bulldogs will conclude spring practice with the G-Day Game on Saturday, April 7, at Sanford Stadium at 2 p.m. Beginning Monday and going through Friday, tickets can be purchased in person at the Butts-Mehre ticket windows between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tickets also can be purchased starting at 12:30 p.m. on the day of the game at Sanford Stadium Gates 2, 4, 6 and the Main Gate located below the Sanford Drive Bridge.
