2007 Spring Practice: Day 2 Practice Report

Posted Mar 7, 2007

ATHENS – The Bulldogs held a two-hour workout on Wednesday for the second practice of 2007 spring drills. Georgia has 12 practices remaining this spring including the G-Day game on April 7 in Sanford Stadium.

"It was like groundhog day from Monday,” said Georgia head coach Mark Richt. “It was the same practice in helmets and shorts. There’s not a chance to see what a lot of guys can do until we have contact tomorrow. Friday we’ll be in full pads and tackle to the ground.

“I did see a lot of good excitement and energy and that’s good. You want a bunch of guys who enjoy the game and each other. I’m sure we’ll have some fist fights tomorrow, but that’s the way it goes,” Richt said.

Also, redshirt freshman defensive end Michael Lemon returned to the practice field on Wednesday.

“It looks like he’ll be able to salvage this semester. He may even be able to strive this semester if he gets his work done. The professors have been very understanding and helpful. I think he’s enjoying being with his teammates,” said Richt.

The Bulldogs will hold Thursday’s practice in Sanford Stadium.
