ATHENS – Seth Watts has decided to give up his Georgia football career.

The junior, who was first team All-Middle Georgia in his junior and senior seasons under Rick Tomberlin, did not start a game during his two-year college career and was not expected to start this year. However, he went through the team’s entire offseason program before deciding officially to quit the team.

Watts missed Monday’s first day of spring practice and talked with head coach Mark Richt about leaving then. The two talked again Tuesday morning, when Watts finalized his decision.

Watts, a talented musician who was suspended from Georgia's Peach Bowl win over Virginia Tech, redshirted in 2004 and then served as a backup at guard the last two seasons.
