Dawgs make the grade

ATHENS - Fifty members of the Georgia football team recorded grade point averages of 3.0 or higher during the recently completed 2006 Fall Semester.

"I am very proud of these student-athletes," Georgia coach Mark Richt said. "I was thrilled when I saw that number. They worked very hard to get these good grades. I was especially happy to see so many freshmen on the list. They've gotten their academic careers off to a good start."

Following is the list of players who recorded the 3.0 or higher GPAs:

4.00: Quentin Moses and Joe Tereshinski.

3.5-3.99: Sean Bailey, Quintin Banks, Shaun Chapas, Jonathan DeLaureal, Christopher Gaunder, Keegan Hanie, Donald Lyles, Martrez Milner, Brian Mimbs, John Ruskell, Will Sullivan, Na Derris Ward and Stephen White.

3.00-3.49: Asher Allen, Andy Bailey, Ramarcus Brown, C.J. Byrd, Tripp Chandler, Darius Dewberry, Kris Durham, Marquis Elmore, Gordon Ely-Kelso, Justin Fields, Thomas Flowers, Darryl Gamble, Chad Gloer, Akeem Hebron, Drew Johnson, Nick Jones, Keegan Keel, Evan Kobialka, Mohamed Massaquoi, Zeb McKinzey, Knowshon Moreno, Fred Munzenmaier, Casey Nickels, Mitchell Pittman, Brannan Southerland, Alexander Speight, Matthew Stafford, Bo Stansell, Tony Taylor, Kiante Tripp, Stephen Watkins, Kade Weston, Des Williams, Antonio Wilson and Benjamin Wilson.
