Actually, thanks goes out to junior offensive lineman Chester Adams
who would have made Judy Garland proud with his rendition of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas." An hour in to practice, Richt called the team together. Adams provided a performance worthy enough that Richt opted to end practice. The seniors were excused from conditioning and then senior Tony Taylor
, the 2006 Vince Dooley
Most Valuable Player, was consulted by Richt about the amount of conditioning left for the underclassmen to complete before ending practice. The freshmen were assigned six "gassers" with sophomores running four and juniors only two.
The Bulldogs will break for three days before reconvening in Atlanta on Dec. 25th for a final set of workouts next week before the Chick-fil-A Bowl against #14 Virginia Tech on Dec. 30 at the Georgia Dome.
"We had a good day out there today, it was fun," said Richt. "Depending on how "Cheese" (Adams) sang, we decided to end practice early. He did a good job again this year."
Last year, Adams was called on on the final day of bowl practice and came though with "The Christmas Song," also known as "Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire."
ATHENS - The Georgia football team concluded bowl preparations here Thursday as Bulldog head coach Mark Richt provided an early holiday present to the squad by ending practice 30 minutes early.
