ATHENS - Josh Kendall's news and notes from Georgia's Cick-fil-A Bowl practices.

SIGNING DAY, PART ONE: Georgia officially will begin building its 2007 recruiting class today when Georgia Military College products Vince Vance (offensive line), Corvey Irvin (defensive line) and Jarius Wynn (defensive line) sign letters-of-intent. Today is the first day junior college transfers are allowed to sign, and it’s possible JUCO products Scott Haverkamp (offensive line) and Joe Blaes (offensive line) also will make it official today.

The rest of Georgia’s recruiting class won’t be able to sign their papers, which make their commitments binding, until February.

TWO HEADS ARE BETTER: Georgia has prepared itself for staff changes at least in the area of recruiting. The Bulldogs use as many as four coaches to recruit individual players rather than just one. That way if a coach leaves, as offensive coordinator Neil Callaway will do after the bowl game, recruits still have a connection to the school.

“I think we do a great job of that here,” Martinez. “We always involve all the guys, and I think that’s really good for the kid period.”

Georgia doesn’t expect to lose any of the players Callaway was recruiting.

“I think that has given us a little bit of an advantage because your competitors are definitely going to use (staff changes) against you,” recruiting coordinator Rodney Garner said.

PRACTICE REPORT: The Bulldogs held their final two-a-day session Tuesday. Tight end Martrez Milner (neck) returned to practice but in a green, non-contact jersey. Georgia will practice once this morning and again Thursday morning before breaking for the holiday.
