Stafford, a native of Dallas, Texas., is 5-2 as a starter. He has appeared in all 12 games and thrown for 1,620 yards this season, He led the Bulldogs to a 37-15 road win over fifth-ranked Auburn plus another victory over 16th-ranked Georgia Tech to close out the regular season. Weston, a native of Red Bank, N.J., has appeared in every game this season including six starts. He is part of a Georgia defense that ended the regular season allowing only 264.0 yards per game, which ranks second in the SEC behind only LSU (238.8). Earlier this week, he was named to the Sporting News SEC All-Freshman Team.
All 12 of the SEC football squads are represented on the seventh annual SEC Coaches’ All-Freshman Team. Kentucky led the way with four selections. Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Mississippi State and Tennessee have three each, while Georgia, Ole Miss and South Carolina added two on the rookie squad. Vanderbilt had one member on the team. Coaches could not vote for their own players and there were a few ties including at quarterback where Stafford and Florida's Tim Tebow were named to the team.
