ATHENS – A report by the Miami Herald says that Defensive Coordinator Willie Martinez has interviewed for the head coaching job at Florida International.

The Miami Herald's Report says Martinez is one of five candidates for the job - along with Miami offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski, Miami defensive coordinator Randy Shannon, Miami offensive line coach Mario Cristobal and Arkansas quarterbacks coach Alex Wood.

Don Strock, the former head coach at FIU resigned in November weeks after the Panther's on-field fight with Miami.

The Panthers' final game is this weekend against Troy.
