Key moment: With 13:01 left in the half, Stafford and center Nick Jones couldn’t make a connection the exchange and Georgia fumbled the ball away at Tech’s 13-yard line, setting up the first score of the game.
Key stat: After converting 4-of-6 third downs in the first quarter, the Bulldogs converted just 1-of-3 in the second quarter.
The man: Yellow Jacket kicker Travis Bell, who has hardly been automatic this season, made a 35-yarder to salvage what could have been a huge turning point on four-play scoring drive that covered minus-five yards.

Key moment: Georgia linebacker Tony Taylor reached into a pile and grabbed a Reggie Ball fumble and went 29 yards for the Bulldogs first score of the game. However, the 15-yard penalty he incurred for diving into the end zone set up the Yellow Jackets for a field goal drive on the ensuing possession.
Key stat: The teams combined for 81 yards in the third quarter and only 34 of those belonged to Georgia.
The man: Cornerback Paul Oliver made two great defensive plays against Johnson and second-and-goal and third-and-goal late in the quarter. The Yellow Jackets tried twice from the 7-yard line to throw the ball up to the 6-foot-5 wide receiver and both times the 6-foot Oliver got his hands on the ball to break up the pass.
The score: Georgia 7, Georgia Tech 6
Key moment: Georgia Tech still had life with a minute left in the fourth quarter thanks to a personal foul call against Georgia’s Quentin Moses that converted a fourth-and-18 deep in Bulldog territory for the Yellow Jackets. However, Paul Oliver picked off Reggie Ball’s final pass, intended for Johnson, to secure the victory.
Key stat: Ball completed just one pass in the final frame. The Yellow Jackets had a 56-yard scoring drive, but every gain came on the ground.
The man: Georgia sophomore wide receiver was booed off his home field midway through the season. On the Bulldogs’ decisive drive, he caught a 4-yard touchdown pass on third-and-goal and then converted the two-point conversion with another catch. He finished as Georgia’s leading receiver (six for 46 yards).
