Williams, who will graduate this year, missed all of the 2005 season due to a chest injury and had five carries for 17 yards in six games before a shoulder injury ended his season.
“To sit out all of last year, it was a hard thing to take,” Williams said. “It was a lot to go through again.”
He had 19 carries for 40 yards coming into this season, and he’ll leave without a collegiate touchdown. Williams was first-team Class AAAAA all-state as a senior linebacker at Dacula High School and moved to fullback his freshman year at Georgia
The Bulldogs are unlikely to feel his absence much on the field with Southerland entrenched as a starter and freshmen Shaun Chapas and Fred Munzenmaier coming off redshirt seasons next fall.
