Tech Week: Monday Practice Report

Posted Nov 20, 2006

ATHENS - The Georgia football team began preparations for Saturday's regular-season finale by practicing for 90 minutes at the Woodruff Practice Fields on Monday.

Georgia (7-4, 4-4 SEC) will entertain Georgia Tech (9-2, 7-1 ACC) on Saturday. The Bulldogs were idle last week after their win at Auburn. Georgia Tech defeated Duke last week and will take on an Atlantic Division team for the ACC Championship on Dec. 2.

"Georgia Tech has had a fantastic season and has a chance to win their conference championship," Georgia coach Mark Richt said. "We have a lot of respect for their players and their coaches and for what they've done this year. We will have to be at our best for this game. We need to have a good week of practice, and we started off with a good one today. Having some time off was nice, and the guys came back today ready to work."

The captains for Saturday's game will be the members of Georgia's senior class. The seniors will be recognized in a pregame ceremony.
