ATHENS - Josh Kendall's news and notes from Georgia's fall practices.

BUSINESS TRIP: Tra Battle had plenty to do on the bus ride home from Auburn. The senior safety had seventy text and voice messages combined on his two cellular phones after the game, he said.

“It seemed like everybody in my address book,” Battle said.

“It was everybody in the phone book,” said cornerback Paul Oliver, who vouched for the volume of calls.

Battle, who was blamed for a blown coverage that allowed a crucial pass completion in Auburn’s win last year, had three interceptions to key the Bulldogs’ 37-15 upset Saturday.

“It was a little sweet redemption,” he said.

INJURY UPDATE: Second-team running back Danny Ware (ankle, knee) spent Wednesday in the training room while his teammates practiced and is questionable for the Georgia Tech game.

“I’m just hopeful that he will be (available), but I really don’t know,” Richt said.

Starting running back Kregg Lumpkin (ankle) didn’t practice but probably could have if this were a game week, Richt said.

Fullbacks Brannan Southerland and Jason Johnson both will know what to do from the tailback position heading into the Tech game just in case, Richt said.

Wide receiver Mario Raley, who suffered a concussion and spinal column bruise against Kentucky, said he has yet to be cleared by team doctors but thinks he will be in time for the game.

Offensive lineman Michael Turner hasn’t returned to practice after injuring his ankle against Kentucky, and offensive line coach Neil Callaway is unsure if he’ll be able to play.

PRACTICE REPORT: The Bulldogs practiced for almost two hours in full pads in a driving rain Wednesday afternoon. The team is only practicing one day this week.

“If we didn’t get (the practice) in today, we were going to go at 5 a.m. so the guys were like, ‘Let’s go,’” Richt said.
