Matthew Stafford
Dawg Post
Posted Nov 1, 2006

Matthew Stafford has had his share of ups and downs this season. He is 3-1 as a starter as has shown a lot of potential. The bad news is that he has thrown 9 interceptions and just 3 TD passes and his one loss was to the University of Florida. This week, Georgia faces Kentucky which has the lowest ranked defense in the SEC. How will the freshman do? I don't know but I talked to him this week.

Dave McMahon -- Moving from high school to college ball is very difficult, how comfortable are you with the system?

Matthew Stafford -- I am getting real comfortable. I am learning more and more each day. I am getting better reads and I have to learn from my mistakes.

DM -- What do you still have to learn?

MS -- I am still learning different situations that I will face. I have to learn when I should make a play compared to when I should just throw the ball away.

DM -- Do you ever talk to a receiver after he makes a drop?

MS -- I usually jump on him for a second, but then I try to build his confidence. I try to keep things positive. We have to move on.

DM -- In the Florida game, you caught your own pass, have you ever done that before?

MS -- First time

DM -- You were also in the shotgun for a lot of the game, which do you like better under center or from the shotgun?

MS -- Either way

DM -- In high school, you were out of the shotgun, right?

MS -- All the time

DM -- Do you feel the offense getting better?

MS -- At times we are executing. We just got to make more plays and eliminate our turnovers.

DM -- How do you do that?

MS -- We just got to continue working hard and playing hard.

DM -- Thank you for your time and answers.
