Kentucky Week: Tuesday Practice Report

Posted Oct 31, 2006

ATHENS - The Georgia Bulldogs (6-3, 3-3 SEC) continued to prepare for this Saturday's match-up at Kentucky (4-4, 2-3 SEC) with a two hour practice on Tuesday afternoon in Athens.

"I thought our team showed a lot of spirit at practice today,² head coach Mark Richt said. ³I was pleased with the intensity, especially in our 11-on-11 work.²

Richt also discussed the Wildcats' offense, defense and special teams during Georgia's weekly press session earlier in the afternoon.

³We're getting ready for Kentucky, and I think it's going to be a heckuva ballgame," Richt said. "They have been doing a nice job up there and I believe Andre' Woodson is second in the league now in passing with 18 touchdown and just five interceptions. He has done a great job with not a good group of receivers, but a great group of receivers. Durrell White is a great pass rusher, and the linebacker corps has been very impressive as well. I was surprised that Braxton Kelly, who is a LaGrange kid, was only 6-0, 225 by the way he's been laying the wood. Their punt return team is No. 1 in the league and fourth in the nation, which is where they usually are, so we have to be very conscious of that group. Our guys are really looking to get back on the winning track. They know we still have a lot to play for."
