OTHER INJURIES: Starting cornerback Ramarcus Brown is doubtful and starting wide receiver A.J. Bryant is questionable for Saturday’s game.

Redshirt freshman Bryan Evans worked in Brown’s place during Wednesday’s practice and is preparing himself to start. True freshmen Prince Miller and Asher Allen also are likely to get plenty of playing time.

“Right now we don’t think (Brown) is going to play,” Evans said. “I think I’m prepared pretty well. Anytime you get in and get a chance to play, you have to take advantage of it.”

Brown, who strained his hamstring Monday, said his status won’t be determined for certain until today.

“If I don’t get the reps in practice, it wouldn’t be fair to Bryan to step back in there in front of him,” Brown said.

Bryant missed Wednesday’s practice due to a nagging groin injury but could return to practice as early as today. If Bryant can’t play, Kenneth Harris will start, Richt said.

Center Nick Jones dressed for Wednesday’s practice but didn’t participate. He probably will get some work today, but his status remains questionable.

Tight end Martrez Milner (toe) is hopeful he’ll be able to return for the Florida game, he said. Milner is in a walking boot but has been off crutches for two days.

HIGHEST HONOR: Senior defensive end Quentin Moses was named a semifinalist for the 2006 Draddy Trophy this week. The award is the highest NCAA honor available for a player and judges academic success, football performance and community service.

Former Georgia offensive lineman Matt Stinchcomb won the award in 1998.
