It appears that Ian Smith will be making his first collegiate start. Normal center Nick Jones is doubtful for this week after injuring his knee vs Vanderbilt. What ever the situation is Ian Smith has to be ready and help that Dawgs end their 2-game losing streak.
Dave McMahon
-- How was practice today?
Ian Smith
-- We definately worked hard. We have to prepared for anything.
DM
-- Were you practicing with the first team?
IS
-- Right now, yes. If
Nick Jones
comes back this week, I will back him up. They don't want to rush anything. I just have to be ready.
DM
-- Who was at center at second string?
IS
-- It was
Fernando Velasco
.
DM
-- When was the last time you snapped the ball in a game?
IS
-- Last time I played offense was against
UAB
. I play special teams on the field goal team.
DM
-- Has Nick Jones given you any pointers?
IS
-- All of us talk. We are all supportive of each other.
DM
-- The offense is clicking a little more than the past, but it is still nowhere near where you want it to be, right?
IS
-- We still have to work harder. We are not executing as well as we could on the field.
DM
-- Tell me about
Mississippi State
?
IS
-- They have a great defensive front. One of the best in the SEC. I don't know too much about their offense. I don't really look at that.
DM
-- Thank you about your time and answers.
