Strickland enjoys trip to Athens

ATHENS – It was a reunion of sorts for Tanner Strickland.

Charles White, Trinton Sturdivant and the bulk of Georgia's commitments were in attendance for Georgia's wild game against Tennessee.

"It was great to see everyone," Strickland said. "I talked with Charles for a while last night, and I saw Chris Little – man is he big. I got to see everyone, but I got there so late – about 6 PM – that I felt a little rushed before the game. But that was my favorite part of the trip – seeing everyone."

Strickland cleared up Strudivant's recruiting situation. The North Carolina native has visited Notre Dame and Florida in recent weeks, but is firm to Georgia according to Strickland.

"He said he's going to Georgia," Strickland said. "He's not played a lot lately because of his injury. He told me that every time he tries to get our there with it he re-aggravates it."

Strickland, who has been forced to play some running back this season, is dealing with an injury himself – an MCL, which is the same type of injury former quarterback D.J. Shockley had last season.

"I sprained my MCL, so I have cooled off running the ball for now," he said. "The injury is not serious."

Shockley returned to form three weeks after his MCL injury last season, and does not have lingering effects from it. Strickland, Georgia's first commitment of 2007, will likely enroll early at Georgia.
