Johnson named Defensive Lineman of the Week

ATHENS ­ Georgia junior Charles Johnson was named the SEC¹s Defensive Lineman of the Week on Monday.

The Hawkinsville native led the Bulldogs to a 14-9 win at Ole Miss with four tackles, two sacks, one pass breakup and two third-down stops. He is the conference leader with nine tackles for loss this year and he leads the team with 3.5 sacks.

Georgia¹s defense limited Ole Miss to 243 total offensive yards on 57 plays and is currently ranked No. 1 nationally in scoring defense at 6.8 points per game.

Johnson was also named the SEC¹s Defensive Player of the Week following Georgia¹s win at South Carolina.
